Changes in Altitude!

The second half of July was all about VACATION for us. Beginning July 15th, the kids and I enjoyed three nights in Grand Lake, Colorado, with Tonie, Nate, Reghan, John and Paige (Steve was on a work trip in Atlanta so couldn't join us). What a beautiful spot in our own Rocky Mountain backyard! The highlight was renting a pontoon boat and cruising the lake (Bohdy's first boat ride!). The house we rented had a big deck overlooking the lake and provided a great setting from which to enjoy all the meals we took turns creating. Fun!

After that trip, we came home and had a day to repack and enjoy a quick visit from Aunt Ginger and Kayla who were visiting from Oregon. The next day we all left for a 12-day trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama, where Steve's parents call home. The gorgeous beaches in Gulf Shores had double red flags thanks to BP and the oil spill so we spent a few days two hours east in Destin, Florida, where the emerald-green waters and sugar-like sand were pure heaven! It was such a treat to be in such a spectacular place and have help with the kids. Thank you, Nana and Papa!!!! We also enjoyed touring the naval museum in Pensacola and the USS Alabama, a WWII battleship in Mobile. Here are a few pics of our trip...the entire album is linked in a separate post below.

Now we are home getting ready to send Saylor to Kindergarten on Aug. 18th. The summer disappeared way too fast as it always does. But I can't complain. It's been a darn good one. :-)
