It's been one of those random weeks of parenthood that I wish I could bookmark and come back to whenever I need a good laugh. On Tuesday I had Saylor's parent-teacher conference with Miss Brooke. She got a glowing review...she has matured a lot socially since the last conference in November and is blowing her teachers away with her thirst and talent for reading and writing. I was a proud mom so I told her I'd take her to eat wherever she wanted. She chose Applebee's, so Applebee's it was. As we waited for our food, Bohdy was sitting on my lap and Saylor was popping up from the other side of the table and playing peek-a-boo with him. She got Bohdy laughing so hard and so loud the whole restaurant was watching and laughing along with him. It was priceless.
When we were about to leave, I had the following exchange with Saylor:
Me: "Are you ready to go?"
Saylor: "As ready as I'll ever be."
Me: (laughing)
Saylor: "Mom, it's just an expression."
Then she told my mom last night that she was "as nervous as a sinner in church."
Really?!?! I give up. She's not 5, she's 25!
She got Bohdy on a roll again tonight...bouncing a balloon off his head. It was hysterical. Watch this video until the end. Emma Sue makes an appearance ... enjoy!!
