Back on Track
Just a quick update since a lot of people have emailed me wanting to know how Bohdy is doing. The little guy is looking great and seems to be back to his happy, hungry self. He got his IV out today and has been bottle feeding most of his milk. Sometimes he is too sleepy so he gets fed through the tube in his nose, but for the most part he is excited for his bottle and chugs the full amount (he'll be at his max of 35 mL by tomorrow). His stool samples were sent to Children's Hospital in Denver to test for some different viruses, but we likely will never know what he had. All the samples will probably tell us is that he does not have a virus anymore and is therefore not contagious and can be out of "isolation" (meaning his nurses don't have to wear gloves and robes and keep all supplies outside his little area). He has been pretty anemic but the doctor told me today that his levels have stayed stable and his blood work is showing signs that his body is making new red blood cells on its own, so we should see improvement soon. That means he won't have to get a blood transfusion. Fingers crossed!! He's 3 pounds 15 ounces today ... hoping to hit 4 pounds soon!!

Your First Thanksgiving, Bohdy!! This Thanksgiving is very special to us because we have been so blessed to have you join our family. We are reminded of how much we have to be thankful for and we know we are truly blessed to have you and your little sister and your cousins. I pray you will continue to grow stronger every day and soon you will be home with your sweet family. God bless you, little boy, and keep you in the palm of His hand.
ReplyDeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteCarol gave me this address so I could check on Bohdy. What a handy-dandy thing this is! I love getting the news and latest pictures! I am so thankful that Bohdy is doing well. Seems like only a short time ago I held you as a little baby. Not this little, though! You've become a wonderful young woman and a brave Mommy. You and your family are in my prayers. Can't wait to see his homecoming pictures.
Love you,
Kay
