Queen for a day
Saylor turns 5 on Dec. 22, but we celebrated early with a party at our house on Saturday (Nov. 21). We needed to do it early since we can't have a dozen kids at our house once Bohdy comes home. And Christmas birthdays are so hard anyway, so doing it early makes it easier on me and makes Saylor feel extra special, too. So 13 kids under 7 years old descended upon our house at noon, eating pizza, decorating balloons and playing games (thank goodness for my ex-teacher mom...she kept them going longer than I could have). Then at 1:00, here came the TumbleBus, a mobile gym housed inside a bus. Saylor had no idea it was coming so it was a great surprise for her. She does "TumbleBus" every Friday at school, so when she saw Miss Sheri pull up in the bus right in front of our house, she was pleasantly confused. The bus was a hit. It wore the kids out for an hour before we finished the party off with cupcakes and presents. I'm glad birthdays only come once a year!! But it was so fun to make Saylor feel like a "Queen." So much attention has been focused on Bohdy with not a single complaint out of Saylor. It was so nice to turn all of our attention to "our first baby" for a day and make it all about her! She kept telling me it was "the best day ever," which she absolutely deserved!!!
