One month old today!!

A month has gone by since the scariest and yet most amazing night of my life! October 9th began as the most ordinary day. Steve had the day off and took Saylor to school so I had a little extra time to go get bagels for a work meeting at 8:30. A bagel sandwich and a long meeting later, I made a quick call to the doctor to let her know I still hadn't felt the baby kick and it was going on 48 hours now. She said to come in right away...and so the events of the day began to unfold.

From my doctor's office at 11:30 a.m. to the hospital for an ultrasound at 1:15, to being admitted as an out patient on the Labor and Delivery floor at the hospital around 3 p.m., to another ultrasound around 5 p.m. to an emergency c-section and the birth of our son at 8:41 p.m. ... October 9th turned out to be one CRAZY day!!! The best sound in the whole world was hearing the one loud cry that little Bohdy made as his delivery was announced. I was so relieved to know my baby was alive and well enough to at least make one sound!

My doctor, Dr. Susie Klingner, and the obstetrician she consulted with and who did the surgery, Dr. Larry Kieft, were so, so wonderful and amazing. I have no words for how compassionate and professional they were through everything. Between them and all the anesthesiologists, scrub nurses, neonatalogists and NICU nurses (I think I was told there were 18 people in the delivery room)...Bohdy and I were in the absolute best of hands!! Here are a few pics of that night (taken by my dear friend Kirsten who came rushing to the hospital on a moment's notice to be there for us...thanks, Kir!!):
